Last year, my little girl, Sophia met a gorgeous little boy named Nixon at our local Kindy that she attends.

You would never guess that this jubilant little boy, who always has a smile on his face, is suffering from a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma.

Unfortunately, in October, Nixon was no longer able to attend Kindy (which he loved), as sadly, his cancer returned.

Nixon’s only hope for a cure is to get him to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York where he can participate in a vaccine trial against neuroblastoma.

This trial is a course of 7 vaccines over 12 months. The trial has been ongoing for over 10 years but is unfortunately unavailable here in Australia.

The costs associated with this vaccine trial amount to AU $350,000, which Nixon’s family is hoping to raise.

Our local Kindy is working hard to help Nixon and his family move closer towards reaching their goal of raising $350,000 so that Nixon can receive the treatment he desperately needs.

To support Nixon’s Hope for a Cure, our Kindy has organised a Fundraising Raffle, and many families from the Kindy have donated wonderful items and services for the raffle.
